Since 1981, this innovative vision oriented company has been in the forefront of the green and sustainability movement. Its Founder worked with the first pioneers of the Integrated Pest Management program at UC Berkeley and built the first living wall art piece in the state. Services include landscape consultation, design, installation, project management, maintenance and water conservation for commercial and residential properties in the San Francisco Bay Area. Korotkin Associates artfully designed, installed, and, for several years, prior to the sale of the property, maintained an elaborate landscape scheme (roof gardens, street level gardens, hanging gardens in courtyard) for the Pierre Suites, a 32 unit corporate apartment complex on Nob Hill, San Francisco.
Sharon is a creative gardener, who never tires of coming up with new solutions. For example, we had a problem with vines attacking our neighbor’s house. Sharon’s solution was to attach huge pieces of plastic sheeting attached to the back of a trellis fence. Even with the bare fence you can’t see the plastic. And when it’s covered with vines, it will be completely invisible. Meanwhile, the neighbor is happy.

Sharon Korotkin, ASLA
Founder and President, Sharon Korotkin, ASLA, has been a horticulturist for over 30 years, bringing years of valuable research and fieldwork to all Korotkin Associates projects along with a focus on water conservation systems, with particular emphasis on native species, drought tolerant plants and water efficient landscapes.
Sharon brings to her clients a refined expertise in horticulture and environmental design. She combines this strength with a comprehensive awareness of cutting edge technology and a licensed California Contractor’s depth of practical experience.
Sharon is Founder of the non-profit Citizens for Greener Communities whose mission is to promote sustainable practices that beautify and strengthen economic corridors, environmental health, and community spirit.
Sharon holds a BS Degree from the Department of Agriculture, University of California, Berkeley, in Conservation of Natural Resources, specializing in ecology, botany, soil science and plant nutrition. She was employed at the UC Botanical Garden in Berkeley, and at Blake Estates, UC project grounds for the Department of Landscape Architecture. She extended her studies to include design and ornamental horticulture in the landscape program at Merritt College in Oakland.
